“How would you fix the world?” exclaimed Mr. Whittard….
Well I started off with:
1: pardon me?
2: fix the world?
Then I really thought to myself and asked the same question, and I still came to the conclusion; I don’t know? World peace?
Then finally I asked if the world’s even damaged? The answer: of course it is. In order to fix something you need to come up with a conclusion of what’s really wrong with it… kind of like our first blogging assignment. In class we came up with our ideas of the world’s main issues. Some examples were: Poverty, Global Warming, Education etc.
In our everyday life (students of Hillfield) wake up, eat, school, break, school, eat, break, school, activities etc. So far we have the Education and well nourished down pack, however that’s a very small portion of the world population. Having no food to eat, and not even knowing what school is, is not okay. I feel like I’m going on a rant but how can you ask a question like so? I would love to end world hunger and make sure everyone has health care but we all can’t live in a dream were everything is perfect; there is no such thing as perfect. I believe I fix the world everyday, making a small difference such as donating my time to volunteer, or even as small as a penny a day… it all goes a long way.
Now you fix it!
I agree that small contributions can make a big difference and that if we all contributed a little everyday, we could solve many world issues. If we work on one issue at a time like the examples you mentioned, we could make a big improvement.
ReplyDeleteI utterly LOVE the way you wrote this.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, and you're right, that as ONE person in the world, you can make a difference with a variety of small everyday deeds (things which are easily accessible and possible to do in a day).
If you do something good for someone everyday that would result 365 peoples world's which you've had a positive influence on in a year!
Pretty awesome :)
I agree with everything you said! I think you made a really interesting argument, good job!
ReplyDeleteBut I think the one thing forgotten is to THINK BIG, yes small contributions make a different but so do BIG ones.
Take Craig Keilburger for example, if it weren't for him thinking on such global level then free the children wouldn't be what it is today!
Pardon me? Of course you would Katya!
ReplyDeleteI feel like everything that is wrong with the world is because of us, and thats not okay. We broke it, we need to fix it. Everyone can do something, whether it is something small you do by yourself or something big you do in a group, every little bit helps :)
